Our History
We’re proud to have served the community for over 45 years, opening all the way back in July 1976 as Gananoque Motors! Our strong communal ties have kept us going strong ever since then, and continue to power us ahead into the future. The Hall family has been a throughline of our dealership all the way from the beginning when husband and wife team Dewey and Sharon opened the one-car showroom, to the present with their son Jamie now acting as Director of Operations (starting out from humble beginnings as a car washer). When we say we’re a family-run business, we mean it! From interacting with our community to welcoming a new CSN collision centre, we’re always looking for ways to connect with the people around us, and to provide a full-service dealership for every Gananoque resident’s needs.
Community Involvement
We’ve been able to stay strong and build our family-owned business for over 45 years thanks to our loyal customers and community! We love to say thank you by giving back to the community who has kept us going for so many years! From sponsoring community events like Rib Fest and the Lansdowne Fair, to supporting local groups like the Thousand Islands Writers Fest, Gananoque Humane Society and the local food bank, we try our best to support as many organizations as we can. We are always looking for ways to support and give back to the community around us, and often run contests on our social media pages with prizes to local businesses. We are so proud of our Gananoque community, and are always happy to give back!

HATS OFF TO GAN CHEV OLDS
For our 45th anniversary, Gananqoue poet laureate, Gretchen Huntley, wrote this poem in celebration of us:
Gan Chev Olds has reason to celebrate 45 years in business and they are simply great A one car showroom was how they began Dewey and Sharon working hand in hand
Their sons grew up in the business too As for employees, they had quite a few This was a family that loved their Town And soon this dealership became renowned
It went beyond the vehicles they sold Because community involvement I’ve been told Has made them a business beyond compare They have a reputation for just being there
Gan Chev Olds is a proud supporter Of local organizations and such Rib fests, festivals, sports teams Oh they do so very much
They have accomplished many things Even in hard times they’ve survived They have discovered the secret Of making a business thrive
Dewey Hall was a wise man He knew just what to do Take care of your customers”, he said “And they’ll take care of you"
Well that is exactly how This business has been run Many people will tell you Gan Chev Olds is number one
Not only will they service your car But they will pick it up too And once it’s ready to come home They drive it right back to you
They take pride in their workmanship And as you travel many a mile They want to know they’ve done their best As they send you off with a smile
